Give Yourself a Break


You read about your friend on social media that pretty much seems to do it all with kids, work and still managing to look put together each day. And then there is you. As you rush through the day with deadlines, responsibilities and the struggle to keep yourself manicured. 


It can be a battle to figure out how you can get it all done in one single day. The struggle is real! You have days where you feel like a superstar and other days where you are down in the dumps.


Your mood is all based on whether you accomplished your deadlines for that day, which can be super frustrating. You are not a failure or a success based on whether you accomplish your goals in each day! Stop this yo-yo of emotions and give yourself a break because no one is perfect. Relish in what you can do and not what you cannot. You need to set goals and work hard to achieve your deadlines but also it is important to be realistic.


As a working mother of 4, I have learned to get a grip and loosen the stressors—and from this new outlook, somehow the world seems brighter! I have also learned that not everything is the way people portray it to be. So, let me share my life changing tips with you!


Dust Later


As you focus on your daily cleaning and weekly dusting, life can certainly pass you by. You may feel like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done. You might feel like you are drowning in your own life and you can’t catch a break.


Live now and dust later. If you spend your whole life cleaning you will miss out on living. I have learned with my four children to tidy quickly and dust when I can. My house is always clean but I never stress about it because it is so important not to sweat the small stuff!


Look at the Weather


Not every day is a perfect 10; there are sunny days where you want to stay outside all day long and then there are the rainy days where you just want to shut the blinds and stay in. Give yourself a break on the down days and push yourself when you are up to it. Listening to your body is one best things you can do, especially as you age. It is important to just go with the flow. Some days I awake with so much energy I am bouncing off the walls and there are other days I have to peel myself out of bed. But I always listen to my body’s cues, it sends these signals for a reason.


Forget the Makeup Today


You do not have to be done up every day with your lipstick, blush and eyes. Forget the makeup today and dress for comfort rather than fashion. 


You don’t have to be so hard on yourself. Do not be worried about what you look like because I guarantee you are much harder on yourself than others are on you. Perspective is realizing in the grand scheme of life all this will certainly not matter. So, put on what you want to wear, not what you think you should wear for the world. Forget the makeup and do what you want to do today with no worries!


You Can Achieve Your Dreams


There is no reason you cannot achieve you dreams but every day you need to take a step closer to your goals. Write a list of steps in just how you can get there. Get in the driver seat to go! If you want to create your own business, research what you need to do to bring this dream to reality. Do a little leg work each day to make it happen!


Celebrate What You Can Do


Before you go to sleep each night, celebrate your victories in all that you have accomplished today, tomorrow and throughout your life.


If you hold your head high with a positive perspective, you will be ready to conquer the world. Smile and be thankful for all that you have and not what you do not. Perspective is everything in how you live each day. As a mom of 4, I look at each of my children—all very different—and I appreciate the unique qualities about them.  Even when I am on the sidelines of a sport they are a part of I make a point of accentuating the positive. Be your own cheerleader in life and go out and make things happen. If you wait for everything to happen to you, your life will be spent waiting on the sidelines.


So, stop comparing yourself to your social media friends and give yourself a break. You are amazing, beautiful, unique and strong. So, go out and be just this, but don’t forget to loosen your grip!
