Tips for a Lifetime

As a certified trainer, nutritionist, marathoner and healthy mom of four, health is something I center my entire universe around.

I spend my time training clients, eating healthy and writing about health. Being healthy often goes along with being happy, and if you have a healthy weight, you will feel and look so much better. You will also increase your immunity and lower your risk of high blood pressure and certain diseases. But how do you attain your healthy weight? If you struggle with weight loss, how do you break the losing battle and win with great results?

For starters, you must be willing to put in time, energy and a great deal of effort and second, you must be ready for change.

Are you ready? Then follow my weight loss tips for a lifelong journey of health and happiness!

Start Your Day with a Workout

Over the years, I’ve had countless clients and I have found that the people with the best results always exercise in the morning. These same clients met their goals and changed their lifestyle by developing new, healthy habits of exercising early. If you have a busy schedule you will find morning workouts to be the best way to find time for your fitness.

So, set your alarm for your morning exercise routine and start your day the right way with a workout!

Eat Mini Meals

Instead of three larger meals that take longer for your body to digest, have smaller mini meals throughout the day. If you do this every day, you will never feel hungry, rather you’ll boost your metabolism and have elevated energy levels. This will also lower or eliminate mood swings because you will not have not ups and downs from blood sugar changes. If you are unsure what to eat, reach out to a nutritionist to set up an appointment to get on the right track!

Prepare for Success

Prepare your weekly meal plan and prep some meals and snacks at least one day prior. Then, when it’s meal time, you can leave the guesswork out and lower the chance of falling off track. When people skew away from their healthy eating plan, it’s often out of laziness or lack of planning. You can also use tracker applications to keep track of your health plan.

Eat Your Greens

Plenty of greens every day will keep the doctor away, or at least at bay by warding off sickness. Make sure you have 5-7 servings of veggies to boost your metabolism and aid your health. An easy way to get five servings is to eat two salads a day with a variety of veggies in them. Another simple tip is to add veggies to your morning egg breakfast!

Life in Moderation

One of the biggest problems dieters have is that they diet.

Even the sound of that word makes you feel restricted. You do not have to be on a diet to lose weight, you can modify your current eating, add more veggies and eliminate processed food to see incredible results. This is when it becomes a lifestyle change. Since life in moderation is the key to a healthy lifestyle, don’t be too hard on yourself—just make healthier choices!

Be Positive

When I have a tough day or when life seems to not be going my way, I always pick my head up to stay positive. Positivity helps me to get back on my health plan if I have an off day with eating. Positivity also helps me to never give up. In hardship, positivity helps me to put on a happy face and find the best solution.

Remember, this is about embracing a healthier, lifelong lifestyle.

Get Plenty of Sleep

As you stay up late watching your favorite prerecorded show, you just may be pushing the bar and doing too much. If you deprive yourself of sleep, you will not only leave yourself cranky but also find yourself gaining weight. Lack of sleep causes your body to secrete the hormone cortisol, which is a weight gainer, and ghrelin, which will stimulate your appetite. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep (this is the only tip I am so bad at following with 4 children, but eventually I will get there)!

With all my super weight loss tips, make sure you follow this plan for life, make healthy changes and live the healthy life you deserve.
